Nakia Reeves - R-HYI, RYT Nakia Reeves started practicing yoga in 2015 as a means to enhance her work out regimen. She quickly found the practice to be more than just physical and began to use the practice as a way to connect with God through Holy Spirit on a deeper level. After receiving her RYT-200 in 2017, she connected with Holy Yoga Detroit and started down her path as Holy Yoga certified instructor in 2018. Nakia now sits on the board of Holy Yoga Detroit. Being able to bring the Word of God to life through breath, movement and even song is what she enjoys about the Holy Yoga practice. As she often says, "Take what you need and leave what you don't at the altar."

She has found it rewarding to see her class overcome obstacles, both physically and mentally. “There is a beauty that lies between the parallel aspects of life and yoga - it is a practice.” she says.
